Volunteer

The Sunshine Coast Hospice Society volunteers are trained, dedicated, dependable and non-judgmental. Our Hospice volunteers provide an invaluable service for the communities that stretch between Langdale to Egmont. Through their warm and compassionate care they support many individuals and families facing end of life challenges, as well as offering support through the grief process.

All of our volunteers go through 30 hours of training, which is usually offered in the spring. Each volunteer has to undergo a criminal record check and two screening interviews before being accepted into the program. There are educational meetings monthly and during the year we have workshops which are generally open to the public. Support is offered to the volunteers on a one to one basis.

We are also looking for auxiliary volunteers who are interested in fund raising, other activities, or being considered as a board member.
